Another end to a great season!
What a season it has been in San Martin! The world turmoil turned this season into one of the most challenging seasons we have had since 2001 just after the 9/11 events. We knew what we were facing and we reacted accordingly, in full cooperation with other guides, listening to every guest expectations.
The season brought along new blood to the Patagonia region; Peter Larsson & Tomas “the mouse” Almer came along with a strong Summer and perfect conditions to dry fly; but not many big fish rising.
Mid May is the time for the big ones to show up and they did not disappoint! It is always exciting to start exploring the “big ones” on streamers at the Limay river. Our big fish guest James Oliver caught a chrome 4.5kg brown trout, and many others followed the lead and pushed the scale to 2.5kg, 3kg and several other times over 2kg.
Many weeks, many speeches from our new and old patagonic friends, fires and card games went by and the time came again for the 2010 season to come to a close. But most importantly many enjoyable moments with friends were had, and isn’t this the real meaning of a fishing trip? It is now time to let our fish rest, recover and make more fish for 2011.
Streamers, sunset evenings, and some Dry fly Fishing – a perfect time
The season began a little cold but soon the fine weather came and with it the good fishing. Mainly with sinking lines and fishing deep water, but also some floating lines and dry flies were used. It is not easy to describe such a wonderful time – everything was fantastic made just perfect by a superb group of guests mostly from Argentina and the USA.
All rivers dropped in to excellent height, and most of the floatable rivers have perfect fishing conditions. I also explored new beats and began to expand my choice of water by starting to fish the Quilquihue river - one of the best rivers in the 4 past weeks.
During the fifth week of the season numerous hard fighting fish were caught. All anglers had great success fishing from a drifting boat or raft.
Many great fish, stories and times were had by all. I look forward to fishing with everyone again and looking forward to the coming week.
The 2009/10 Season has begun!
The 2009/10 Patagonia Season has begun with happy clients and cheerful guides. The weather has been very pleasant with temperatures reaching 16 degrees Celsius. All rivers are a bit high and colored, but is continuing to drop quickly. Everyone is very happy to see fish again! Guides are in top form and ready to start the season strong!. This is a very exciting time for everyone in the city!.
We had an excellent opening day with seven big browns on Filo Hua Hum lake... and the conditions keep getting better! Check out the new photos of the first fish of the season. We are looking forward to a great first week!
These are all signs of a very promising season! We look forward to seeing all of you very soon.
A quick weather update from Patagonia

The forecast for the next few days is expected to be close to +10 - +21 degrees Celsius. We are looking forward to a good summer.
Everyone is ready for the new season in good spirits, confident that guests will again enjoy a unique experience when visiting Patagonia. Keep watching for updates.-
Starting on November
The 2008/09 season is over and will be remembered as one of the best.
Big fish were captured, but the ART was the same. The same art that united us as anglers, as people, as friends. The passion is in ONE. One “cast” between millions. Is remembering that moment that calls us back no matter the distance or the trip. We all look forward to live that moment again. This next season is “the one”. The trout is waiting for us. From November to May I’m ready to live that moment again. That peace. That Art.
With great appreciation, and looking forward to see you.
